Partners under the ACT Alliance Appeal for Refugees from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania are currently in Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Isingiro District for a benchmarking visit to learn best practices in Uganda’s management of the regional refugee crisis.

Church of Uganda delegation, led by Mr. Balaam Muheebwa, the Provincial Treasurer, is actively participating in this regional exchange. The benchmarking visit offers an opportunity to share experiences and strengthen cross-border collaboration in refugee response efforts.

Partners from Uganda include Finn Church Aid (FCA), the Lutheran World Federation (LWF), HEKS/EPER (Swiss Church Aid), and Church of Uganda. From Tanzania, the partner is Tanganyika Christian Refugee Services (TCRS). 

From Kenya, the partner is the ACT Alliance Regional Office. From the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the partners include Christian Aid (CA), Bureau Œcuménique d’Appui au Développement (BOAD), the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Congo (EELCO), and Église du Christ au Congo (ECC).

In Nakivaale Refugee Settlement, Church of Uganda provides psychosocial support, promotes peaceful coexistence between refugees and host communities, gender-based violence prevention and response, and provides urgent humanitarian assistance.
