KISORO- The Bishop of Kabale Diocese Rt Rev. Callist Rubaramira has confirmed 331 Christians into catholic faith at Gisoro catholic parish in Kisoro Municipality.
Rt Rev. Rubaramira told parents that children are taught by them because a home of a Christian is the foundation of the church when there is peace in that family.
The Bishop said that they will be opening a new parish at Muhanga Catholic Church where he called it a sign of thanks giving to God because he gave them a blessing with 15 priests in the diocese.
Bishop Rubaramira also thanked Christians who supported them during the fundraising of Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF), which they conducted on 14th Oct, 2023 revealing that St. Ignatius University Kabale will start to function on 08th January, 2024 to support students to learn things that will help them in their future families.
Father Mbabazi Alfonse of St. Peters Gisoro catholic parish said that the reason for the confirmation is to ensure that Christians are taught values of the church and true Christians and therefore become warriors of Jesus Christ.
Father Mbabazi asked Christians to hold fast on Jesus Christ to have a good life where he said these days there are people who believe that a church is for people who are old yet it is not the case.
The Rubanda District Woman Parliamentary hopeful Jackline Katabazi, Paul Nzabandora the parish council chairperson graced the function.
Meanwhile, Graduate parents have been urged to provide education, and care to their children.
This was revealed by the Eden Mission Programs manager Rev. Amon Byiringiro during the 1st graduation of 241 people and mass wedding of 13 couples held at Gifumba Church of uganda parish in Murindi village, Muhindura parish in Kanaba sub county of Kisoro district.
It is said that the course “Family empowerment” sponsored by Eden Mission commenced in early January to December 2023 and under this course, spiritual development, personal finance and business, parenting and child development, and healthy marriage were covered.
Byiringiro urged the graduates to use their riches properly to develop, put in practice what they have been taught, and act as examples in the communities they live in.
He added by appealing to the graduates to form a Sacco stressing that after getting a license of operation, Eden Mission will provide with them some money to help them secure loans at low rates and to embrace love, respect and development in their families.
The chief guest Brehm John, a board member of the Eden Mission thanked the government for working together to enhance Eden Mission in communities and appealed to the people to act as agents of transformation in their societies and urged them to always read the Bible as a source of comfort.
Ntabanuye Emmanuel the district councilor for Kanaba Sub County and Murindi village boss Steven Bakunzi thanked Eden Mission for thinking about his sub county aiding it to develop the people stressing that this will erase poverty and reduce family disputes.
