KAMPALA- The speaker of Parliament Anita Among has directed the state minister of finance in charge of general duties Henry Musasizi to bring a report to parliament showing how ROKO construction utilized the bail out money which was given to it by government.

The speaker’s directive came after the leader of opposition in parliament who also doubles as Nakawa west MP Joel Ssenyonyi presented a report on his visit to ROKO construction company head offices las week where he was denied access.

Joel Ssenyonyi in his report told the house that they him and the shadow cabinet had gone to ROKO constructions limited to scrutinize the utilization of the 263 billion which was given to it by government has a bailout.

Ssenyonyi told the house that in July 2022 government brought a supplementary budget worth 263.33 billion to bail out ROKO constructions limited which was passed by parliament so that to save it from collapsing noting that unfortunately ROKO doesn’t show how it has utilized the tax payer’s money given to it.

Joel Ssenyonyi has further revealed to parliament that despite bailing out ROKO government construction projects contracted by ROKO continue to stall and therefore the government should come up and explain to parliament what is going on with ROKO.

The state minister for fiancé in charge of general duties Henry Musasizi questioned the kind of oversite done by the leader of opposition and his team at the head offices of some companies and he also questioned if that over site was sanctioned by the house.

The speaker ruled by saying that the leader of opposition was right to go and make an oversite at ROKO constructions and she also directed the minister to bring a report concerning the utilization of money which was bailed to ROKO constructions.
