Ben Kumumanya addressing Human Resource Officers

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government Ben Kumumanya has revealed that all government jobs will be advertised with disclaimers urging the public to desist from bribing recruitment officers as a deterrent measure against corruption. 

Kumumanya said this while presiding over the opening ceremony of an Orientation of Heads of Human resource currently taking place at the National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi saying that the initiative is meant to streamline the recruitment of employees in government.

The training has been organised by the Ministry of Local Government in collaboration with the Ministry Civil service college and the National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi. 

The training that is comprised of 237 Heads of Human resource across the country is aimed at enhancing capacities of heads of human resource in Local Governments to regroup into strategic and professional officers and also aimed at revolutionalising the human resource function in Government. 

The two weeks Orientation is running on key principles of patience, commitment and sacrifice .

Kumumanya told the participants that they are expected to develop an effective human resource management function in the public service and Develop strategies to combat corruption during recruitment, access to payroll and pension management. 

He re-echoed the directive on job advertising warning that public jobs have to be advertised and that recruitment into government Jobs doesn’t attract any fees.
