NEWS- The Police in Kabale District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 56-year-old man identified as Johnson Musisi, a resident of Rwesasi village in Kitooha Parish in Kaharo Sub- County.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists that the incident occurred yesterday and it is alleged that unknown people with malice afore thought, unlawfully caused death of Musisi.
It is reported that Musisi was returning home from work and when he reached Kyobugombe Trading Centre near his home; unknown assailants attacked him and hacked him to death using a suspected sharp object.
Maate explained that one of the resident who uses the same road while going back home came across his body and immediately went and informed the family members of the deceased including the area Chairperson.
The area Chairperson and other residents went and confirmed the incident and thereafter informed the District CID officer Kabale who led a team of Homicide and canine to the scene for further investigation. Maate said that the scene of crime was visited, examined and documented.
Maate added that relevant statements were recorded from witnesses and the body was conveyed to Kabale Regional Referral hospital for postmortem examination as Police intensify efforts to trace for the killer weapon and the suspects who are still at large.
