The Police in Kabale District have registered a serious road accident where an unidentified man of unsound mind was knocked and seriously injured.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists that the accident took place today at Mukirindi Kabale along Kabale – Katuna road and involved motor vehicle registration number UBB162F driven by Tabusibwa Tonny.
It’s alleged that, the driver of the vehicle was driving from Kabale Town heading towards the Katuna border, when he reached Mukirindi towards Mwanjari, he knocked a mentally sick man who was trying to cross the road from the left to the right.
Maate said that the Police were informed, the scene was visited, the victim rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for treatment and the motor vehicle parked at Kabale Central Police Station pending Inspector of Vehicles inspection.
The Police have since appealed to the general public with anyone missing the dear one of the unsound mind should visit the hospital and accord him the required assistance.
