KANUNGU- Christians have been called upon to cooperate with their newly posted church leaders in order to boost the development that is going on in their areas.

The call was made by the Sub-Dean of St Peter’s Cathedral Nyakatare The Very Rev James Kabagambe while presiding over the installation of the newly posted Parish Priest of Kajugangoma Church of Uganda in Kirima Sub-county Rev Alfred Nsenga and his wife Catherine.

The Very Rev Kabagambe said that he has known the new Priest as a hard working person and the Christians should therefore utilise his vast experience to develop their church projects and contribute to the development of the Diocese.

Earlier, the Kanungu District Chairperson Eng Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo called on the church leaders to rally the christians to initiate income generating activity geared towards alleviating poverty so that they can in turn contribute to the development of the Church programs.

Eng Arinaitwe Kajojo asked the Christians to choose the right leaders who will support them in time of need and guide them to contribute to national development.

The event was also addressed by Kinkizi West Member of Parliament Hon James Ruggi Kaberuka who said that he had come to show solidarity with the newly installed Priest Rev Alfred Nsenga together with his wife Catherine because he has known him for long ever since he was ordained and pledged to support the development activities that he will initiate in the area.

The event was attended by hundreds of the Christians including those who accompanied Rev Nsenga from his previous church at Kihembe Church of Uganda and as far as Kihihi Town Council in Kanungu District.
