‎The newly sworn in as mayor for Kashenshero town council Allan Hillary Asiimwe has rooted for unity and inclusivity as they assume their new roles in office.

‎Speaking after his swearing-in ceremony presided over by Mitooma deputy Chief Administrative Officer Mr John Kanyihamba yesterday 25th May, Asiimwe emphasized that the town council belongs to all residents and must serve everybody accordingly.

‎Asiimwe hailed his predecessor, Edgar Arinda Rwambika, for laying the foundation of the council and pledged to work closely with Councilors and technocrats to strengthen service delivery. He urged Councilors to desist from personalizing offices and divisions among themselves despite political affiliation and instead bring all stakeholders on board to ensure that the people get the services they deserve.

‎The then Mayor Mr Arinda Edgar Rwambika appealed to the new leaders to uphold integrity and not taking leadership as an opportunity to undermine their electorates but to consider inclusivity and serve everyone equally.

‎He also urged Councilors to work for the people they represent to develop as they aim to maintain the leadership status for imminent to other different positions.

‎During the ceremony, John Jackson Betegyerize was elected speaker who will be deputized by Daphine Kihembo, while Marry Karungi assumed the role of vice chairperson, Karungi Mary deputy mayor will also act as secretary for production, Hon Brian as secretary for Finance and Diana Agabirwe secretary for social services.

‎The event held at Kashenshero town council grounds in Mitooma district. ‎The swearing-in ceremony that included 15 Councilors swearing – in and their new elected mayor attracted local leaders, clergy, and members of the public, underscoring the community’s interest in the future of the town council.
