NEWS- Minister for gender children and youth affairs in the ministry of gender, labour and social development who doubles as the woman Member of Parliament for Kisoro District Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateke has expressed worries of Kisoro youth residents not welcoming government programs especially the youth livelihood program fund.

Honourable Mateke said this while addressing over 250 choirs under Diocese of Muhabura that gathered at the cathedral grounds in Northern Division Kisoro Municipality aiming to collect funds to shelter the new cathedral that is still under construction.

Minister Mateke said that the youths of Kisoro district no longer apply for YLP  to enhance their development in the communities according to the report she got from the responsible officer who narrated that youth have shunned applying for such funds located for every sub county for the youths to use them in developmental agenda.

She interested Kisoro women to stay connected and maintain skills waiting to receive the funds known as Glow meant to develop the Ugandan women where interested ones will get a loan of over Ugx 50 million to alleviate them from poverty.

Sarah Mateke revealed that she is able and content to help the youths and women ensuring that whoever applies in youths livelihood program funds and the incoming government program Glow will be aided most, ordering them to access the money and invest more in their businesses.

Glow funds will be given to women who have skills or businesses not as a starting capital. She further urged women to have what to do so that as Glow funds come, find when they have skills and businesses thus easier for them to apply.
