Namanya Viola Buroko, President of Mwonyo's Heart Jonathan Nahurira from UCU Mukono

NTUNGAMO- Political and civic leaders have been challenged to empower and support talented young Ugandans in order to spur social-economic transformation across the country.

According to Ruhaama sub county councilor Ahabwe Bernard Mupenda, young people must support and involve them in planning and decision making if the country is to have competent generational leaders.

Councilor Mupenda made remarks on Saturday while officiating the handing over of the relief items to the beneficiaries at Ruhaama sub county playground donated by the Mwonyo’s Heart a charity organization started by students of Uganda Christian University Mukono.

He challenged all leaders to always have charity organizations aimed at lobbying for their constituents especially to the less privileged people. Mupenda hailed the Namanya Violah Buroko for the initiative saying that it is a shocker absorber for the other Ruhaama people in diaspora.

The students from Uganda Christian University led by   Namanya Violah Buroko revealed that the students started the Mwonyo’s Heart as a charity organization to support and restore hope to the less privileged people in the country.

Namanya noted that they selected 52 pupils from Ruhaama county who hail from poor backgrounds and their parents for the first phase to benefit under the pilot program.

She asked Ugandans who are well off to join them as the only way to serve their country and its people.

Mwonyo’s Heart UCU has donated food items such as sugar, rice, maize flour, and soap, pads, clothes, books, pens, pencils and school fees to Kotido, Kampala, Wakiso and Ntungamo districts.

The beneficiaries commended the Mwonyo’s Heart UCU led by Namanya Viola Buroko for the gesture.

The occasion was blessed by Ven Rev John Baryamumpa the archdeacon Ruhaama and political leaders including Kinyata Ipolito the LCIII chairman Ruhaama sub county.

Some of the items donated
