The Ministry of Health has reassured the general public that there is no resurgence of COVID-19 in the country and the National situation remains stable and under control ever since the end of major Covid-19 outbreak 3 years ago.
According to a Press Release dated June 11th 2025, signed by the Director General of Health Services in the Ministry of Health DrvCharles Olaro, the Ministry has for the last 3 years consistently monitored Covid-19 trends to ensure early detection and prompt response.
Dr Olaro therefore clarified that the Ministry of Health the massages being shared by some some unscrupulous media sources are old clips and are meant to mislead unsuspecting Ugandans.
He said that the Ministry of Health is constantly alert and will continue to monitor the flow if information about new strains of COVID-19 being reported in the various parts of the world while working with relevant stakeholders to ensure the continued safety of the population.
“Uganda continue to benefit from a strong surveillance and response system which has been built over time and remains fully active and capable of detecting and addressing public health threats” Dr Olaro statement reads in part.
He however said that if any one contracts flu-like symptoms consistent with COVID-19, should immediately visit the nearest health facility for appropriate treatment and management.
