Tumusiime named the victim as Abias Mpirwe 44, a resident of the same address who according to Police reports was killed on the fateful day at around midnight, at a bar owned by Kyomugisha Dina.

The Police spokesman added that a dispute arose between the suspect and the victim over a woman named Ainembabazi Eunice, a barmaid whom Kakama was romantically interested in.

The disagreement escalated when Kakama requested Mpirwe to leave so that he could engage in a romantic relationship with Ainembabazi.

Moses Tumwijukye, 53 year old resident and an eyewitness recounted that Mpirwe refused the request, leading to the suspect’s frustration. In a fit of anger, Kakama reportedly grabbed a bench and struck Mpirwe on the neck.

The injured victim was promptly rushed to Kampala International Teaching Hospital where he was later pronounced dead on January 31st, 2024.
