The National Resistance Movement has concluded the process of identifying and endorsing its flag bearers for the forthcoming Village Women Council and Local Council I  elections, with Secretary General Hon Richard Todwong urging party members to actively participate in the electoral process and mobilise support for the party’s candidates.

Addressing the media at the NRM Secretariat in Kampala yesterday, Hon Todwong said the party had successfully conducted village barazas to elect and validate its flag bearers before endorsing their nomination forms on July 13th and 14th clearing them to seek official nomination by the Electoral Commission.

Hon Todwong urged party members to take part in the ongoing display of the village voters’ registers by the Electoral Commission and verify that their details are correctly captured.

He said candidates for LC1 chairperson and Village Women Council positions will be nominated between July 16th and 19th and called on all NRM flag bearers to report to their respective sub-county headquarters with their duly endorsed nomination forms.

Ahead of the Village Women Council elections on July 23rd Todwong announced that the party will hold another round of village barazas on July 22nd to mobilise support for its candidates.
