Nabbanja and the Uganda delegation at the World Governments Summit in United Arab Emirates

NEWS- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has asked developed countries to stop the pollution of the environment and adapt clean energy to address climate challenges.

President Museveni call was contained in a message delivered on his behalf by the Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja during the ongoing World Governments Summit in the United Arab Emirates in the city of Dubai.

Rt Hon Nabbanja was responding to questions raised during the summit on Uganda’s strategies to promote sustainability and green economy initiatives amidst global environmental challenges.

She said that President Museveni emphasizes that big contributors of greenhouse gas emissions should stop and adapt to clean energy measures. Rt Hon Nabbanja briefed world leaders that Uganda has put in place policies to enhance socio-economic transformation of the country.

The Prime Minister also witnessed the signing of an Memorundum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Uganda and the Digital School regarding collaboration in digital learning in Ugandan schools wherec the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Henry Okello Oryem signed on behalf of the Ugandan government.

The Prime Minister later in the day inspected the Coffee exhibition at the World Trade center in Dubai where Ugandan coffee was exhibited and noted that Uganda’s coffee is the best but only requires aggressive promotion and blending to capture world market.

Rt Hon Nabbanja was flanked by the Minister for public service Muruli Mukasa, the Minister fhor General Duties in the office of the Prime Minister Hon Kasule Lumumba, the Minister of State for Environment Hon Beatrice Anywar, the Minister of State for disaster preparedness and Refugees Hon Aber Lillian and Uganda’s Envoy to United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador Zaake Kibedi.

The World Governments summit is running under the theme “Shaping Future governments” and continues today February 13th 2025.
