Kinkizi West MP Kaberuka representing Rt. Hon Anita Among at 4th Graduation Ceremony of Uganda Nursing School Bwindi in Kanungu

KANUNGU- The speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Annet Anita Among has appreciated the Church of Uganda, Diocese of Kinkizi, for the visionary decision to establish Uganda nursing school Bwindi   and the Uganda college of health sciences

In a speech read for him by the Kinkizi West Member of Parliament member Hon James Kaberuka, she said that It is not only an academic achievement but it is an act of compassion, foresight, and service to humanity.

Speaker Among said that establishing such a professional institution in this hard-to-reach, underserved area was not only bold, but deeply meaningful in a region where infrastructure is still a challenge and where the population is vulnerable, Uganda Nursing School Bwindi has become a beacon of hope, a ladder of opportunity, and a symbol of what is possible when people care.

In his own remarks Hon Kaberuka emphasized that institutions like Uganda Nursing School Bwindi are pillars in our broader vision for inclusive development in Kinkizi West.

He noted that education and health are the foundation of any prosperous society and pledged to continue  championing initiatives that strengthen both and said that his office is already engaging with various government ministries and development partners to lobby for improved infrastructure, including better roads, electricity and digital connectivity in this area all of which are critical to support emeging institutions.

The Diocese of Kinkizi Bishop Dan Zoreka congratulate the graduands and reminded them that they have chosen a noble profession that demands compassion, empathy and selflessness and that as they begin their journey they should remember that their skills will bring healing, comfort and hope to those in need.

The Bishop reminded the graduates that the world today is looking for appropriate competence, professionalism, innovativeness, effectiveness and excellence among the workers and therefore they should continue to use every opportunity to learn more in order to be marketable.

Earlier the Chief Executive Officer of the Kellerman Foundation Ms Laura Corley said that Uganda Nursing School Bwindi continues to prepare nurses of the highest standard because of the unwavering dedication of leadership, faculty and students and the students, she promised that the healing hands of nursing graduates will reach those whose suffering has been the greatest.

Uganda Nursing School Bwindi is in process of transforming into a University and will start offering Bachalors Degree programs.

During the ceremony 211 students were awarded diplomas and certificates in clinical medicine, nursing and midwifery and the event was attended by Kanungu District Vice Chairman Henry Mwongyera Tibifumura, the clergy and other religious and political leaders among others.
