POLITICS- Igara West County Parliamentary seat has now become a daily discussion as constituents get new aspirants every now and then.
Igara West, found in Bushenyi district, Ankole sub – region is now in hands of Hon Gaffa Mbwatekamwa who sits on top of fire because his opponents are on ground soliciting for votes and he is using propaganda to confuse netizens.
Recently, the legislator posted on his social media handles that if the government doesn’t iron out tea Issues, he would challenge President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the top most seat in the party and eventually in the country.
On the side of voters, it looks like Hon Mbwatekamwa Gaffa wanted to stand for presidency but local sources could not fail to go on ground and get statements like “how can someone fail to perform in just one constituency and then wake up one day thinking of leading Uganda? Does he really has advisers? He should not even waste time to come back”.
Hon Gaffa Mbwatekamwa is serving his first term as Igara West MP after he narrowly won over the old man Professor Tarasis Kabwegyere who was squeezing him but as a saying goes “between two fighters there must be a winner”.
This time around, the incumbent has been having sleepless nights due to the rumored candidacy of Counsel Amanya Cohen Kyampene but it seems it’s not the end.
This website has learnt that Counsel Amanya Cohen Kyampene has been on ground helping people in improving education, health sectors and working on other community issues such as rehabilitating feeder roads, bridges among others and in ears of the voters, if it was voting was now, he would eventually have that good report.
It’s not until one of the voters identified as Kamusiime John from Ndaragi Kakanju in Igara West told us about a new aspirant, youthful and energetic with big dreams named Katushemererwe Brenda whom he says wants to transform Igara West.
Information on our news desk is that Katushemererwe, is a daughter to Ven Canon Asingwire Steven, a granddaughter to Bakamunaga Fred from Kibingo Kakanju.
She is a health scientist by qualification, social worker, and owns some CBOs including Telemed, AFAAD among others that serve marginalized areas of Uganda and unite Africans World Wide. She is a former Manager Greater African Radio Mbarara.
Igara West looks like the land of Eden because this woman had also shown interest to stand for presidency (top most seat in Uganda) in 2021 but just decided to leave the race and focus on community programs.
