KAMPALA– A section of Parliamentarians has criticized some of their fellow members trying to withdraw their signatures from the censure motion against the four commissioners of Parliament after court declared the service award legal.
The Member of Parliament for Soi County ABdi Chemaswet Kisos and Chelangat Solomon Aling’a of T’oo County on Tuesday this week wrote to the speaker of Parliament and the mover of the motion to withdraw their signatures from censuring the 4 Parliamentary Commissioners over alleged corruption.
However, the Member of Parliament for Bugiri Municipality, Asuman Basalirwa, and Kira municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda reminded the intending legislators of the Parliamentary rules of procedure, which require them not to withdraw their signatures once they sign on any motion.
Basalilirwa advised them that if they detected anything wrong by the mover to misuse their signatures, they could only raise it when the motion reached the floor of Parliament and vote against it.

Ibrahim Ssemujju said that MPs need to be subjected to mental health to avoid some of them behaving in such a manner.
