Hailing from Nyakagyezi-Nyarutojo, Kambuga Sub-county in Kanungu District, Comfort Kashemeire has steadily built a strong track record of leadership and youth empowerment.
Her leadership journey began at Nyaka Primary School, where she served as the Information and Entertainment Prefect and she later joined Nyaka Vocational Secondary School Kambuga, where her leadership roles multiplied.
Between 2015-2017, Kashemeire served as the Science Club President, leading the school to win the Best Pitch Award at the Annual National Secondary School Tech-Innovation Competition and she was also the Scripture Union Prefect (2016-2017) and later rose to the position of Head Girl (2017-2018).
Her passion for science and innovation continued at Maryhill High School, where she served as the President of the Science and Robotics Club.
In 2021, Comfort’s exceptional writing skills won her the Essay Writing Challenge, earning her the opportunity to serve as Ambassador for the Day at the British High Commission.
She pursued higher education at Kyambogo University, where she completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and while at University, she continued her leadership journey, serving as the Guild Representative Councillor for the Faculty of Engineering (2023-2024) and the Guild Deputy Speaker (2023-2024) and also contested for the position of Deputy Speaker in the Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) elections.
Currently, Comfort Kashemeire is running for Kanungu District Female Youth Councillor, driven by a passion to represent and champion the interests of young people and her leadership is rooted in kindness, passion, competence, and a genuine commitment to empowering the youth.
