The Diocese of Kinkizi has bid farewell to the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda The Most Rev Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu ahead of his retirement due in August next year.
Archbishop Kazimba Mugalu arrived in the Diocese of Kinkizi June 28th and was received by the Bishop Rt Rev Dan Zoreka together with his wife Maama Flora at Savana Airstrip in Lihihi before proceeding to St Peters Cathedral Nyakatare in Kanungu Town Council where he led the service.
While delivering his sermon, Dr Kaziimba Mugalu preached on unity as the unifying factor for the social and economic transformation among the communities and further called upon the politicians to work together with the religious leaders in promoting peace across Uganda.
The Archbishop also guided the christians on how to choose good leaders who will be leading the Diocese of Kinkizi and requested them to have intercessors praying to the Almighty God to help them in identifying quality leaders that will develop the Diocese.
Archbishop Kaziimba Mugalu thanked the late Dr James Musinguzi Garuga for having supported the Church of Uganda, and prayed that peace prevails in his family.
On his part Bishop Dan Zoreka thanked the Archbishop for the farewell visit and the love he has been having in serving the Lord.
The function was attended by key political figures who included the former Prime Minister Rt Hon John Patrick Amaama Mbabazi who also extended his gratitude and the heartfelt pleasure on the farewell visit of Archbishop Kaziimba Mugalu.
Others in attendance were the Kinkizi West Member of Parliament Hon James Ruugi Kaberuka who thanked Bishop Zoreka for the development in the Diocese in terms of education, health water and sanitation and further thanked Archbishop Kaziimba Mugalu for being a good leader and hard working since he managed to accomplish the Church House debt.
The function was also attended by the Minister of State for the Elederly Hon Jackline Mbabazi, Kanungu District Woman Member of Parliament Hon Kinshaba Patience Nkunda, the Distict Chairman Francis Byamukama Kapesha, the RDC Ambrose Mwesigye Amanyire, tbe former LC 5 Chairperson Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo among many others.
