NTUNGAMO– Ntungamo police have four suspects in the custody on two counts of theft by house breaking in Rubaare town council.
According to the officer in charge of Rubaare police station Illim Muzoora where the suspects were first arrested from before they were transferred to Ntungamo Central Police Station, they are Frank Asiimwe aged 24 alias Rukundo forty one a hawker, Mugisha Wilson aged 28, a Rwandan by nationality alias Teo also a hawker, Batista Byaruhanga aged 28 a peasant all residents of Kagango I, Kagango ward and Tumwesigye Ramathan who operates a salon in Rwenanuura trading centre, Rwikiniro sub county, Ruhaama county in Ntungamo district.
The suspects were arrested on 14th January 2024 after the footage of one among the suspects Frank Asiimwe captured by a CCTV camera inside a shop went viral on social media platforms.
Police noted that when Asiimwe got inside the electronic shop, he first removed the television that displays what takes place knowing that he had destroyed the exhibit.
Muzoora said that it is purportedly that the four suspects abetting each other between 10th -11th of January this year broke into the house of Niwahereza Bruce who was away for work in Akatojo cell, Akatojo ward Rubaare town council and at unknown time in the night, they stole one regulator and a battery equivalent to over Ugx 1M in cash they also went on to other families and stole 50 hens.
Muzora told the press that the suspects did not relax stressing that on 13th to 14th January 2024, they also broke into the electronics shop owned by a prominent businessman Bwetere Alex alias Kyosha operating it in Rubaare town council.
According to the statement recorded by the victim Mr Alex Bwetere seen by our reporter, it’s reported that the suspects stole an assortment of items correspondent to Ugx 7M including 600 USB flash disks, 600 mobile phone jackets, 650 screen guards, 2 Flat Television sets 1 robot radio.
All suspects were found in one residence of Wilson Mugisha alias Teo together with some items planning where and how to sell them.
Muzoora said that the suspects were transferred and detained to Ntungamo Central Police Station for further management into the matter.
