Bidding farewell to Feresta Nkabimanya

NEWS- Mrs. Feresta Nkabimanya, a dedicated Chairperson of LC1 Murole A Cell in Nyakabungo Ward, was laid to rest yesterday at her ancestral home. The ceremony included a call to leaders to emulate her legacy of not misusing her authority as Chairperson.

Born on January 1st, 1954, Mrs. Nkabimanya passed away due to heart failure. Her life was celebrated at a funeral Mass attended by thousands at Rubanda Town Council on March 11th, 2025.

In his speech at the funeral Mass, Mr. Fred Rwegyemera Kaharata, Mrs. Nkabimanya’s husband, described her as a woman who supported him financially and had a vision for their family. He praised her work ethic, saying, “My wife worked like a tractor. I used to tell people that I had bought a tractor at home, only that I lacked enough land where she could practice her agricultural activities.”

Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson, Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, also spoke highly of Mrs. Nkabimanya, describing her as a dedicated and responsible leader who never misused her authority. Chairman Kasyaba highlighted her commitment to serving her community with integrity.

On behalf of the government, Rubanda District Woman MP, Hon. Akampurira Mbabazi Prossy, appealed to men to be transparent with their finances, urging them to put their money on the table for proper family management. Hon. Akampurira Mbabazi Prossy, who is also a Commissioner of Parliament, attributed the success of Mrs. Nkabimanya’s family to the transparency of her husband, Mr. Fred Rwegyemera Kaharata.

Hon. Akampurira Mbabazi Prossy emphasized the importance of women respecting and obeying their husbands. She also revealed plans to resume empowering village women groups in areas where she had not yet reached.
