District Khadhi chairing a meeting

NEWS– The Rukungiri district Kadhi Sheikh Abdul Malik Byaruhanga Kayole has urged committees of the Muslims founded schools to cooperate with parents and foundation bodies if they are to improve performance and development of their schools.

Sheikh Kayore made these remarks while meeting PTA and management committee Chairpersons, head teachers and the Rukungiri district Muslim committee at Rukungiri district Muslim headquarters.

After the meeting, he officially released the PLE-MOCK results of their four primary schools which they previously sat for, indicating a drop in the performance since only 5 candidates scored division one, 34 in division 2, twenty in division 3 and thirty one in division 4 of the 134 candidates that sat for the exams.

The District Kadhi says this meeting has helped school stake holders to share different challenges affecting their schools which has backslid them in terms of performance but will be worked upon since they have been known.

Kakyima Lawrence Vincent, the PTA chairperson for Rwakanyengero primary school, Twinobwesigye Suman, the Management committee chairman of Kiborogota primary school and Besigye Fred PTA chairperson of Rukungiri primary school said teachers and parents have a unique role to play to ensure a conducive learning environment to improve performance of their school.

They commended the good work that is being done by the district Kadhi in revamping their Muslim founded schools which will improve their development and performance.

Hajji Abdullah Bananuka, the Rukungiri Muslim district Chairperson revealed that as a foundation body, they have embarked on stabilizing their schools, asking parents to help them in monitoring these schools to ensure that their children get the best education and discipline.

Ashraf Kwikyiriza, the secretary for education, Rukungiri Muslim committee said introduction of setting these special exams like PLE MOCK will help them as Muslims schools to improve in performance.

He added that results from these pre mock exams were not good at attributing it to different reasons which they tackled as a meeting so that in PLE, these candidates can perform well if the discussed resolutions are put into practice.

Discussions ongoing in the meeting

Kuwait nursery and primary school topped the schools in performance followed by Rukungiri primary school, Rwakanyengero primary school and Kiborogota primary school trailed.
