NTUNGAMO- The South Ankole diocese has hosted Namirembe diocese in a benchmarking visit for 4 days.

The Bishop South Ankole Diocese the RT Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe who welcomed and hosted them said   the visit is meant to benchmark several projects initiated by the Diocese.

The Delegation toured south Ankole diocesan projects including the four storeyed Mother’s Union Complex, Coffee plantations on a 80 acres of land, Banana plantation, the Irrigation scheme, the fish pond project, and other income projects that were initiated by Bishop Ahimbisibwe and his Diocesan team in Rwananuura parish, Kibatsi Archdeaconry, Inspire Africa Coffee Park in Rwashamaire Town council and they will conclude their visit on Thursday.

Bishop Ahimbisibwe congratulated the team for fostering their Networking ties with the Diocese stressing that the visit helped both sides to share key development and gospel information capable of changing their way of lifestyles and fighting household poverty.

Mama Lillian Ahimbisibwe revealed that the diocese is planning to skill mothers to rejuvenate traditional skills of weaving and crafts to have income at household level.

The Namirembe Diocesan Bishop Rt Rev Moses Banja and delegation of 40 clerics and parishioners appreciated the coffee and banana projects being done in the South Ankole Diocese particularly in Kibatsi Archdeaconry to transform the households.

He said that it has been a great visit and beneficial to the clergy and parishioners of Namirembe Diocese.

Bishop Banja pledged to harness the collaboration of the two Dioceses and hailed the South Ankole Diocesan Bishop Ahimbisibwe and Mama Lillian for hosting them for 4 days.

The Diocesan secretary Rev Canon Arthur Twinamatsiko who initiated the coffee plantation at Kibatsi Archdeaconry thanked his predecessor for steering the project.

Rev Canon Twinamatsiko revealed that various delegations have been flocking the Diocese purposely to learn new development oriented ideas.

The Archdeacon Kibatsi Ven Rev Azaria Mwebembezi highlighted project achievements including coffee attributed to unity and commitment towards the development of the Archdeaconry at every level.

Ven Rev Mwebembezi noted that the Archdeaconry is rolling out water harvest tanks and sanitation programs to change the welfare of the parishioners.

Other speakers were Rev Edmond Mwesigye, father’s Union leader Mwesigye Nelson Raare and Deborah Tusiime mother’s union coordinator.
