KABALE- It’s a grieving Christmas Eve to the family, University management and fraternity of Kabale University following the death of a third-year student at Kabale University in South Western Uganda, Kabale District.
The deceased according to sources has been identified as Doreen Ainembabazi who was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Kabale University.
A close friend confided to this reporter that the last encounter with Doreen was on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Kamukira Health Center IV in critical condition within the Southern Division of Kabale Municipality.
“When I saw her last on Wednesday at Kamukira Health Center IV, she was battling a severe headache and couldn’t speak,” shared a friend of the deceased anonymously on Sunday morning.
Ainembabazi becomes the second student to die at this University within a period of one month (month). It should be remembered that on Friday, December 8, 2023, the student community and Kabale University management were shocked by the untimely demise of Audrey Nayebare, a student in the Bachelor’s of Arts in Social Sciences program.
Nayebare was laid to rest at her ancestral home in Kichwamba Parish, Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri district. Audrey was an alumna of Kashenyi Secondary School in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri district.
As of press time, Doreen’s friends were still grappling with grief, sharing photos of the deceased on social media, reminiscing about the good times spent together at the University.
By the time of this story publication, the University management had not yet provided any statement on the matter.
