The Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi the Rt Rev Dan Zoreka has today August 25th confirmed 72 Christians in the Anglican faith at St Emmanuel C.o.U Kyeshero in Kyeshero Sub-county in Kanungu District.
The pastoral visit started with laying a foundation stone at Katiba Nursery and Primary School and later a home visit to Mzee Eric Rwayagire who voluntarily donated the land where the school is constructed.
The Bishop and his team proceeded to Emmanuel C.o.U where he also laid a foundation stone to a newly constructed church which is still under construction where he also planted a tree in fulfilment of the campaign of Church of Uganda of planting 15 milion trees ahead the commemoration of 150 years of the Anglican faith in Uganda where each Diocese was asked to plant 385000 trees in a period of 2 years.
In his sermon Bishop Zoreka encouraged Christians to work hard and fight hunger in their families, deriving his sermon from Jeremiah 31:33 and informed Christians that if they keep in God, he will also keep in with them and encouraged Christians to get saved in Christ as Paul writes in acts 4:12.
In her farewell speech Maama Frolah Zoreka thanked Christian for treating the Bishop and his family well during the time they have been at the helm of the Diocese and asked Christians to pray for a smooth transition.
The Bishop thanked retired Rev Christopher Nyirimanzi who inniciated him into the church ministry including recommending him to become for a Lay readers training course in 1983 while he was serving in Rwangoboka.
Bishop Zoreka bid fairwell to Christians with the words in 1 Peter 3:8 which emphasizes forgiveness and love for each other as brethren.
