The Police in Kisoro District are currently investigating circumstances under which a 50 year old woman identified as Bubeneri Sylvia, Rwandan National, Resident of Kinyababa Sub-county, Burera District in the Republic of Rwanda died suddenly inside a Bus.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Nelson Tumushime has confirmed the incident and said that the Police received information from the management of Friendship Bus Company that a passenger, who was heading to Rwanda was found lying unresponsive in a Bus registration number UBL 996L which was plying from Kampala to Kisoro.
Tumushime said that the Police responded immediately and conveyed the deceased body to Kisoro General Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
A witnesses who asked not to be named said that the deceased boarded the bus in Kampala and when they reached at Kanaaba Security Checkpoint where every passanger is required to come out for checking, the deceased remained inside and it was at that time that the Bus management established that she had died.
Tumushime has appeal to the public to remain calm as investigations to get the next of kin continue, so that the body is handed over to relative for descent burial.
