RUBIRIZI- Christians have been challenged to love their religion, love each other, Love God and be hardworking if they want happy and blessed families.
This message was raised by Rev Father Saverinos Ndugwa, the vicar general Mbarara Archdiocese while leading the mass at Rugazi Catholic Parish in Rubirizi district on Wednesday 10th January 2024.
The Vicar General who had represented the Archbishop of Mbarara His Grace Lambert Beinomugisha confirmed at least 400 believers into the Catholic Church and advised parents to always go to churches with their children for prayers as this will help them to create mutual love and unity amongst all Christians especially the young generation.
The Vicar General noted that churches and mosques are very important in the community and tasked parents to always hold Christian lessons with their children so that they can grow up fearing God and with discipline.
“If your children know God they cannot waste their time in drug abuse, taking alcohol, early sex acts that destroy their lives and can easily be infected with HIV/Aids”, He narrated.
Speaking on the same day, Reverend Father Lawrence Mwesigye Rubirizi Diocesan Education Secretary advised parents to take education as the first priority since it’s an investment that leads to success arguing that most families will not see any difference in life since they have failed to educate their children.
Meanwhile, Reverend Father Alphonse Mukundane Rugazi, Catholic parish priest reminded the youths about loving God, being focused, determined plus observing good discipline and love education if they want to achieve their future targets, saying “you would rather be an educated fool than a clever uneducated person”.
He condemned domestic violence that has become rampant in the district blaming over consumption of alcohol by mostly men and youths plus poverty as its leading factor thus challenging the mentioned group of people to always spend time while working for their families, praying for each other and supporting each other if they want to fight the vice.
Deo Twinomuhangi, chairperson Rugazi parish Council expressed his gratitude to the vicar General for paying a visit to them and argued with the newly confirmed Christians to strengthen their faith in God so that he can always protect them from evil.
Ben Bataringaya, director COVOID also chairperson Butoha Catholic church implored the youths to conquer the obstacles they face in their daily lives as a vital step in achieving success in life.
