Rwizi Regional Police Spokesman Samson Kasasira

NEWS- The Mbarara City Police have initiated an investigation into the mysterious death of a 30 year old Murindwa Isaac Isooke, also known as Mutooro, a driver resident of Kyenjojo District.

The Rwizi Region Police spokesman SP Samson Kasasira told the press that Isooke’s lifeless body was on Thursday 18th March 2024 at around 11:00Am discovered at CARO Guest House and Lodges in Rwebikoona Cell, Kamukuzi Ward, Mbarara City.

According to Kasasira, the deceased had rented a room at the guest house for the night on Wednesday 17th April 2024, around 10:00PM and the following morning, at approximately 7:00AM, the guest house manager attempted to wake him up as part of a routine procedure but received no response.

Kasasira adds that the concerned manager alerted the Police, who arrived at the scene whom upon an unsuccessful attempts to rouse the occupant, they broke the window to gain visibility into the room. Subsequently, they forced entry by breaking the door and found the deceased lying lifeless on the bed.

The body was then transferred to the mortuary at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem examination, which will aid in the ongoing police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Investigations into the incident are currently ongoing.

Relatedly, the Police in Mitooma District have registered an incident involving the discovery of an unidentified body on Thursday April 18th 2024.

According to SSP Marcial Tumusiime the Greater Bushenyi Police Mouthpiece, the body was found dumped along the banks of Ncwera River.

The deceased, identified as Tumwesigye, 62, of Nyankole ethnicity and resident of Rwebitunda Cell, Rucence Parish, was found with his hands tied behind their back with a rope, and their head wrapped in a black polythene bag (commonly known as Kavera).

The body lacked any identification documents and was subsequently retrieved and taken to Kitagata General Hospital in Sheema District for a postmortem examination.
