NEWS- A total of 1699 have graduated at Team University on Friday with different disciplines during 12th graduation ceremony held at Pope Paul Memorial hotel in Mengo Kampala.
The University Chancellor Prof. Tarsis Bazana Kabwegyere presided over the function of awarding Masters, post Graduate, degrees, Diplomas and certificates. Kabwengyere said he was extremely happy with number of females graduating with degrees.
“During our time very few females would join degree awarding institutions yet the mothers were the ones doing what it takes to make sure their sons can get education,” he said.
Kabwengyere said he was named after his mother “Bazaana” because of the role she did to in bringing him up and getting the education he is enjoying now.
“I was on her breast feeding almost for five years and is the one who encouraged me to study up to this level as I was first graduate in family of my father and even on the side of my mother,” he said.
Kabwengyere wondered how the 13th graduation ceremony will look like and how many will graduate at that time.
“I magine this time we are graduating few compared to November last year but the whole place is full. How will the 13th graduation look like?” he Wondered.
He praised Team University directors for their vision of investing in the education which will remain until the coming of Jesus Christ.
355 females were awarded degrees compared 350 males. 354 females got diplomas compared to 343 males. More males, 33, were recorded on Master’s degree and post graduate than 13 females whereas post graduate males were 154 compared to only 50 females.
Two females and two males were awarded first class degrees with Hellen Sabano a female topping them with 4.54 followed by Jamira Nalubega with 4.53, Samuel Elingu got 4.48 while Geoffrey Oundo got 4.41.
The vice Chancellor, Prof. Lutaro Bbosa said that although the University still promotes distance learning due to the prevailing technology, they has secured accommodation for those who want to be accommodated at the University of about 400 Learners.

The chairperson board of trustees, David Tushabomwe Ndindirize praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and first lady who’s also the Education and Sports Minister for the good environment they created for private sector to offer education services to the citizens.
“This institution has benefited more people outside than the ones who started it,” he said.
Tushabomwe said that they decided to have two graduations in November and May to avoid conjestion of graduands and their parents since students’ enrollment increases day by day.
He said some graduands were from Kenya, South Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda and Josephine Okui Ossiya, the President of CPA was the chief guest at the function.
