The Police in Rukiga District have registered a hit and run fatal road crash leaving Natukunda Eunice resident of Kariba cell in Karogwa Parish in Bukinda Town Council dead.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the accident that took place at Kakatunda Trading Center along Kabale – Ntungamo highway.
It is reported that the accident took place when the deceased was from Kariba heading for an over night prayers at Bukinda Parish and when she reached at Kakatunda and was almost crossing the road, a speeding vehicle from the direction of Kabale knocked her dead on spot.
Maate explained that the scene of the accident was visited and documented, the body was taken by the relatives and the, but postmortem forms were later issued to get examined.
Maate said tjat the vehicle and its driver are still at large but efforts to have it known and recovered are being made, and appealed to anyone with information that can lead to its recovery to volunteer it so that action is taken as investigations continue.
