NEWS- The Rukungiri-Kampala bound Perfect bus, on Monday morning, August 12th 2024 was involved in an accident.
The accident according to a source, who was a passenger on the Perfect bus registration number UAZ 326B narrated to our reporter that it had a collision with another vehicle along Mbarara – Masaka Highway at about 2:00 am.
The bus carrying passengers from Rukungiri headed for Kampala, reportedly left Rukungiri on Sunday night at around 8:00Pm.
The source intimated to our reporter that the bus made a stopover in Mbarara before continuing the journey on to Masaka, when it had a flat tyre.
The source who preferred anonymity stressed that it was by God’s grace that they survived this tragedy pointing out that the bus driver was overspeeding speeding and that he could not sense that there was danger until it so happened.
According to him, the bus unexpectedly stopped, and the second bus from the same company which was also coming from Kihihi in Kanungu district headed for Kampala is the one that helped them.
The source adds that after the tyres were fixed, they were able to continue with their journey since no passengers were harmed.
According to them, they all made it through the voyage alive as passengers, having complained to the driver about careless driving.
