KAMPALA- The Uganda Police Force have dismissed as baseless the list making rounds on social media, suggesting that the thirty members of Parliament have reportedly been summoned over corruption.
The message therein purports that the 30 legislators were to appear today at Kibuli CID headquarters but Enanga says the list should be disregarded and ignored.
Enanga noted that the CID team hasn’t provided the list of other summoned officials to the Police Communication department; He however, noted that it is impossible to summon 30 MPs at once.
“We haven’t been alerted about the new list of MPs summoned by CID, but again if it was true, how can you summon 30 people at once? It’s impossible, but once there is any arrest or summon confirmed we shall let the public know.” Enanga added.
Meanwhile the details about MPs Paul Akamba’s arrest remain scanty, by presstime, Enanga had said he also had no information about the Busuku legislator’s whereabouts.
“I don’t have any information about him. I will be communicating as soon as possible once there is any information about his whereabouts.”Enanga said.
Akamba, was arrested on Friday after stepping outside the court by a group of unknown security operatives moving in a minibus commonly known as drone who whisked him to unknown destination.
His re-arrest came minutes after being granted bail on charges related to corruption scandals.
