Ongoing road works in Rubare Town Council

NEWS- Rubaare town council authorities have embarked on tarmacking Rubaare central road that stretches off Mbarara-Kabale high way near Leisure village hotel and bar crossing the centre of Rubaare town council, back to the main high way opposite Tangaza hardware.

Addressing residents during a Community based Thunder Radio talkshow, the town council engineer Moses Twiine accompanied by the town clerk confirmed that the tarmacking of the 1.116 kilometre road will cost them Ugx 900 million.

Eng. Twiine said that works to be done on the road include; bush clearing, grading, excavation to level, gravelling, priming, road sealing, chipping and drainage improving and among others .

The Engineer added that some of the materials are already procured and are parked at the Town council headquarters, including Stone dusts, aggregates and culverts among others.

The funds are from the Uganda road fund through Ntungamo district local government and they have so far received Ugx 450millon from the release of two financial years, 2023/2024 and 2024/2025.

Emmanuel Byamukama, the town clerk Rubaare town council called on road users to embrace government projects like roads and others intended to bolster development in their localities adding that road networks help in linking their produces to the final consumers and markets.

Byamukama also asked them not to be a stumbling block to the development in their area.  

The mayor Rubaare town council Benson Kansiime, challenged the Town council dwellers to borrow a leaf of development from other town councils and follow the suit.

Kansiime also appealed to them to stop critiquing the authorities over the demolished temporary structures during road grading.
