The local leaders, led by Keinamura John and Turikyarokyi Flugence, emphasized the road’s significance to the community and expressed concerns about the potential consequences of delayed completion, particularly with the impending September rains.

They also expressed dissatisfaction with a section of individuals, primarily from Kabahesi, who are politicizing the project and demanding compensation despite initially agreeing to offer their land freely.

Niwaha Francis, a senior journalist and Buhara Sub County chairman prospectus, urged locals to embrace the road construction for the benefit of their society, stating that development is contingent upon road construction.

Hon. Atwakiire Catherine Ndamira commended the NRM Government and the Ministry of Works and Transport for the road construction and challenged the contractor to complete the project before September.

The 5km road, valued at Ugx 618,975,140, connects Buhara to Kamuganguzu Sub County along Kabale-Katuna.

The project was lobbied by Hon. Atwakiire Catherine Ndamira and Ndorwa East Legislator Hon Wilfred Niwagaba from the Ministry of Works and Transport, and launched by Kabale District leaders on June 4, 2024.
