NTUNGAMO- The assistant RDC Ntungamo Jimmy Tashobya Omugogoozi has tasked civic and political leaders to uphold transparency and accountability in the areas of their jurisdiction.
Assistant RDC Tashobya noted that these are core values of the NRM government and will greatly improve the service delivery to the community.
He spoke these today during the Central Division budget conference 2025/2026 financial year held in Division Council Hall Kikonki Ntungamo municipality.
Tashobya also cautioned them against mismanaging government programs saying that the office of the RDC will not hesitate to be arrested.
He hailed the leaders of the Central Division led by the technical wing and the council for the work and being the first Division to hold a budget conference this year.
The chairman LCIII Central Division Mugisha Robert Kanyate thanked the central government for continued financial support to lower local governments and timely release of funds to enable them to implement projects.
Kanyate appealed to political and civil leaders to always give their views on priorities which will be tabled before the budget for the next financial year 2025/2026.
He pointed out some challenges including poor road network, construction of staff houses at Ntungamo Health Centre IV and classrooms at Ntungamo and Kikoni Primary schools.
The acting senior assistant town clerk Central Division Twesigye Abubakar highlighted the achievements made in the year 2023/2024 including revenue collection of over UGX 200M and what will be done 2025/2026.
Twesigye who represented senior assistant town clerk Ainomugisha Coreta who is on maternity leave noted that in the year 2025/2026 the Division priorities the following extension of water, electricity, 3 stance Kikoni model weekly market and opening of new roads.
The Central Division budget framework paper was presented by Natukunda Winnie, the Acting Accountant Central Division.
